Heaven Teferra (she/her) serves as the Climate and Policy Associate at the Public Health Alliance. Her academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Sustainability from San Diego State University, and a dual Master of Arts in International Affairs and Natural Resources and Sustainable Development from American University. During her graduate studies, she spent a year at the UN-Mandated University for Peace in Costa Rica being informed by indigenous practices of environmental stewardship and focusing on environmental subjects such as climate adaptation & justice and sustainable agriculture. For her Master’s Capstone Project, Heaven conducted a comprehensive literature review on Investigating Youth Investment in Environmental Justice Scholarship. She is deeply passionate about sustainability and environmental justice, demonstrating a strong dedication to developing strategies that prioritize marginalized communities and drive positive and transformative environmental and social change.
